Anum Shah joined Penney Design Group in 2026. She brings a strong background in multifamily and mixed-use residential architecture, with experience spanning wood and concrete construction, senior living, and large-scale developments across the Mid-Atlantic region. Ms. Shah has been involved in all phases of the design process, from schematic design through construction documentation and coordination, contributing to projects that prioritize both design intent and constructability.
Ms. Shah has experience leading project teams, managing schedules, and coordinating with clients and consultants to ensure alignment and quality throughout project delivery. She is skilled in developing unit plans, life safety strategies, and detailed construction documentation, and has served as a Revit model manager, supporting efficient and consistent project execution. Her work also includes mentoring junior staff, contributing to office standards, and supporting onboarding and training initiatives.
In addition to her architectural experience, Ms. Shah has contributed to community-focused design efforts, including volunteer plan review for large-scale events and participation in international art exhibitions. She also has experience in graphic design, producing custom signage, marketing materials, and visual communications for a range of clients.
Ms. Shah received her Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also minored in Architectural Representation.
She is proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite, and has experience with digital fabrication tools including laser cutting, CNC milling, and 3D printing.
Ms. Shah is fluent in written and spoken Urdu and Hindi, and has beginner proficiency in Spanish.
