Bunker Hill Fire Station

Penney Design Group principal, Rui Ponte, AIA led a design-build team on a project for the largest Fire Station in Prince George’s County. This state of art fire station combined five smaller fire stations into one comprehensive fire station with facilities for rapid response, haz-mat and homeland security support. The fire station features 5 double bays, in effect allowing for simultaneous deployment of 10 emergency response vehicles. Interior spaces include a decontamination area and special storage areas for gear and equipment for use in high hazard situations in addition to everyday fire and rescue operations.
